PARKING, | | | | Details: | The Airlie Guest House is a listed building, part of a Georgian Terrace. It is TOTALLY NON SMOKING THROUGHOUT and personally run by proprietors Peter and Fiona Flynn. Only 1 mile from Princes Street, located on an excellent bus route, we have buses passing the Guest House every few minutes. The bus stop is located about 20 yards from the Guest House. A number 3, 29, 31, 37 or 37a bus will take you to Princes Street which is regarded as the City Centre and only a mile from the Guest House.. The bus fare is currently £1.20 and the exact change is required as no change is given by the bus driver. Day tickets are available from the bus driver and cost £3.00, this option may prove more cost effective for you if you intend to use several buses in one day.
Our accommodation is comfortable and offers good value for money. We have a variety of bedrooms which include single, twin/double/small family en-suite, standard double and large family en-suite. Most of the rooms have their own en-suite shower and toilet and all rooms have their own wash basin, flat screen digital TV, tea / coffee making facilities, adjustable central heating and secondary glazing. We also have a payphone for Guests use. Our most recent addition to the services we provide is a Wireless hotspot so you can use your laptops while you are staying with us.Our large private car park at the rear of the house takes the worry out of parking, making The Airlie and ideal base for business travellers or visitors wishing to explore the wonderful City of Edinburgh.
A full cooked breakfast is included in the price and served between 8am an 9am daily. Check in is from 11.30 am until 8pm and check out on your last day with us is 10am. On arrival you will receive a set of keys allowing you access to the Guest House and your room at any time.
Newington is an area which offers a large choice of evening meals, almost all tastes are catered for locally, Indian, Chinese, Thai, Italian, fish and chips, hotel restaurants, pubs a coffee house and a tea room. We also have a newsagent directly opposite the guest house plus several banks, a post office, grocery stores, a laundrette, bakery and childrens playground, all within a 5 to 10 minute walk of the Guest House. We are also within a 15 minute walk of the Festival Theatre, Queens Hall and Royal College of Surgeons.
Holyrood Park is only a 5 minute walk from the Guest House there you can enjoy a walk up Arthur’s Seat - an extinct volcano. There are paths which allow you to climb to the top and once at the top you have a spectacular view of the City. There is also a road which you can drive up and enjoy the views that way.
